Aztecs get into foul territory

April 10. Game 1: PCC 4, Arizona Christian University 2

The Aztecs held off a late surge from Arizona Christian to take therst game of the doubleheader atWest Campus on April 10.

Sophomore Jose Contreras threwve scoreless innings as he pickedup the win (4-3). He gave up 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Game 2: PCC 15, Arizona Christian University 5

The Aztecs’ offense resurrected itself scoring multiple runs in multiple innings.

Sophomore Juan Durazo nishedthe game 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Sophomore Martin Garcia went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Michael Wong was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

April 7. Game 1: PCC 3, Arizona Western College 5

The Aztecs were in a battle with Arizona Western as they went back and forth, until Arizona Westerntook the lead for good in the nalinning of the game.

Sophomore Logan Klunder got thereworks going early as he launchedthe ball left for a solo homerun toget the Aztecs on the board rst.

Klunder nished the game 2
for 4 with an RBI and a homerun. Sophomore Marcus Mendez also went 2 for 4 with an RBI while freshman Michael Wong was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Freshman Adam Moraga came in a relief appearance going 11⁄3 innings, allowing zero earned runs on 2 hitswith 3 strikeouts. Wong threw veinnings giving up 2 runs with 3 strikeouts.

Game 2: PCC 4,
Arizona Western College 10

In a tie ball game in the sixth, the Aztecs surrendered 5 runs and could not respond.

Sophomore Kristian Samorano came in relief as he went one inning allowing 3 earned on 2 hits with 2 strikeouts.

The Aztecs have lost seven straight and are looking to bounce back at home against Arizona Christian University on April 10.

April 3: Game 1-PCC 1, No. 10 Central Arizona College 4

The Aztecs were swept at home by Central Arizona as the Aztecs had yet another tough outing at the platescoring one in the rst game of thedouble header.

Central Arizona scored in the seventh and the eighth to down the Aztecs.

Game 2-PCC 3, Central Arizona 11

The Aztecs couldn’t withstand there power of Central Arizona as thesurrendered eight runs in the sixth inning of the second game.

Freshman Rafael Padilla was 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Freshman Ryon Craig started and threw four innings allowing 2 earned

runs on 5 hits with 1 strikeout.

March 31. Game 1: PCC 0, Cochise College 3

The Aztecs played their roughest game of the season as they were swept by Cochise College at homeon March 31. The Aztecs left verunners on base, with 4 hits along with 3 errors on the day.

Freshman Michael Wong would start game one tossing 51⁄3 innings allowing 1 earned run.

Game 2: PCC 4, Cochise College 10

The Aztecs day would not get better in the second game of the double header as they committed seven errors for the game.

In the fourth inning the Aztecs were hanging tough with the score 5-4, however that would be the closest the Aztecs would get to Cochise College.

Wong would be a bright spot for the Aztecs going 4 for 4 with two RBIs. Another bright spot of the day for Aztec baseball was the Mayor of Tucson Jonathan Rothschild threwout the rst pitch.

March 27. Game 1: PCC 2, Eastern Arizona 3

The Aztecs were in a back-and- forth battle with Eastern Arizona as they came up short in Thatcher on March 17.

The Aztecs had the lead in thethird, but 2 runs in the fth forEastern Arizona downed the Aztecs.

Freshman Adam Moraga took theloss, he pitched 41⁄3 innings allowing2 earned on 5 hits with 3 strikeouts.

Game 2: PCC 13, Eastern Arizona 2

The bats came alive for the
Aztecs in the second game of the doubleheader as they put up 7 runs onthe board in the rst inning.

The Aztecs hot start wouldn’t fade as they got the mercy rule victory over Eastern Arizona.

Freshman Ryon Craig picked
up the win as he pitched ve solidinnings allowing zero earned runs on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts.
