Wind Ensemble performs classics from Caesar Giovanni and more

Pima Community College Music premieres the Wind Ensemble concert, hosted at the PCC Center for the Arts, West Campus, at 7:30 p.m. on March 8.

General admission tickets are $6, and discounts are available.

The concert features band classics that helped shape the 20th Century band repertoire. Brass, percussion and woodwind sections round out the concert and are the main ensembles of the concert. The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mark Nelson.

The program includes “Overture in Bb” by Caesar Giovannini; “Amparito Roca” pasa double march by Jamie Texidor; the “Second Suite in F for Military Band” by Gustav Holst; and the “Wearing of the Green” from the Irish Suite by Leroy Anderson.

Aside from those featured performances, the concert will also include a new arrangement of “Blessed are They” from A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms.

Box office hours are noon to 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. They also are open one hour prior to each performance.
