March 4-11: 25th Tucson Winter Chamber Music Festival

March 10-11: Tucson Festival of Books

University of Arizona Mall

This two-day festival attracts more than 130,000 book-lovers to the UA Mall and nearby venues for exhibits, author presentations and panel discussions. Over 400 authors will participate in presentations and workshops.The event will take place from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. each day and is free to the public. The Sun Tran bus system and the Sun Link streetcar will provide alternatives to parking at the UA.  For more information, visit

March 17-18: Wa:k Pow Wow

Wa:k Village/San Xavier Mission, 1915 W. San Xavier Road.

Hosted by Southern Arizona’s Tohono O’odham Nation, categories include team dancing, drum contest, owl dance, inter-tribal dances and more. Gates will open at 10 a.m. The first ceremony opening will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. Admission for adults costs $7; children cost $5; and children 6 and under are free.
