While the rest of us were enjoying a nice break from our responsibilities over the holidays, the Pima Community College men’s basketball team enjoyed no such time off, as they played eight games over the winter period and finished with a record of 7-1 over the holidays.
The stretch of good play culminated in a nine-game winning streak for Pima, which saw the Aztecs’ ranking in the NJCAA Division II poll rise all the way to No. 3 on Jan. 9, which was the highest ranking in school history. The winning streak ended on Jan. 10 when Phoenix College defeated Pima 99-77.
