On Dec. 8 and 9, Pima Community College Dance will perform in the student-choreographed “Signature Selections.”

The selections are under the direction of Nolan Kubota and feature student-created performances. The dances pull from hip-hop, modern, lyrical and jazz styles, according to a press release.

Student choreographers include Taljah Blue, Lindsay Kovrig, Carter Crawford, Kyle Reza and Parker Schlitz. For the first time, Pima Dance Club will compose a dance routine and Pima Dance Ensemble will perform a can-can dance.

“Every year a new group of students comes through the dance program,” Kubota said in a press release. “Some years are exceptional, and this is one of them. Our returning students in particular have really embraced the idea of creating work on their own that has artistic value. They have some very creative ideas for this concert.”

“Signature Selections” will be held at PCC Center for the Arts at West Campus.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 8, and Dec. 9 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 with discounts available.

The CFA box office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays, and one hour before every performance. For more information, visit pima.edu/cfa or call 206-6986.
