WOMEN’S GOLF: Women go for streak of second places

Pima Community College women’s golf took second place for the fourth straight time in regular season at the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational on March 16.

The Aztecs held off South Mountain Community College and had a nine-stroke improvement from the first round. They finished with a two-day score of 667 (338-329).

Freshman Desiree Hong took first place in the individual for the second straight time. She had a winning total of 151 as she shot a three-over 75 in the first round and a 76 in the second round.

Freshmen Adriana Moreno and Samantha Hacker each shot a total of 170. Moreno finished the final round with a six-stroke improvement from the first round with an 88-82.

Hacker was two shots better in the second round with an 86-84.

The Aztecs will compete in the South Mountain Community College Invitational at the Legacy Golf Resort in Laveen, Ariz., on April 4-5.
