Pima Community College offers free Math Bridge program

By KATTA MAPES

Pima students from any campus with a score of 35 or higher on the math component of the Compass test are invited to a free non-credit, seven-week program to build math and study skills. The course is designed to improve math readiness and confidence.

“Math Bridge classes are a great choice for students who want to strengthen or refresh their math skills quickly, and thrive in a face-to-face, interactive learning environment,” said Wendy Scheder Black, advanced program director at the Community Campus.

The courses will run Monday to Thursday for seven weeks from March 28 to May 12. Class schedules include:

East Campus: 1- 4 p.m. in room H-110.

Desert Vista Campus: 5:30-8:30 p.m. in room E3-305.

Northwest Campus:1- 4 p.m. in room A-210.

Anyone interested must complete an application, which is available from any student services advisor. On March 23, participants will attend an orientation session during the scheduled class time and location for each campus.

At the end of the course, participants will take a Compass post-test to document progress made in the Bridge program.
