GOLF: Women lose eligibility, men win opener

By MICKEY RAY LAMB

The Pima Community College women’s golf team was unable to complete its first meet of the season.

“I’m not at liberty to disclose any information at the moment,” head coach Rick Price said, citing eligibility issues.

Although the Aztecs participated during the first day of competition, PCC was not permitted to participate in the contest for the second day of events.

The next meet of the season is at Dobson Ranch Golf Course in Mesa on Feb. 14 at noon.

The mens’s golf team had an outstanding season opener, winning the Chandler-Gilbert invitational.

Pima finished on top individually, with David Rauer taking first place with a 137, Wilfred Tewawina in second with 140 and Frankie Wu was tied for third with a 142 in the two-day event.
