Zombies are coming to a theater near you, thanks to Tucson filmmaker Peter Leon.

Leon’s newest short film, “Copper Creek: Genesis” is his sixth released and is a sequel to the first installment, “Copper Creek.” Leon is also producing the film, which he co-wrote with friend J. Patrick Ohld.

The short film will premier Friday, Feb 6, at 8:30 p.m. at the Oracle View Theatre, 4690 N. Oracle Road #4. Tickets cost $7.

The one-hour movie involves a delusional doctor, running from the law, who is determined to bring his wife back from the dead with the help of a local preacher.

In a deadly combination of science and religion, a zombie epidemic ensues.

The short film was shot between Tucson and Benson and stars all local actors.
