Pima Community College dancers are ready to kick off their spring concert in 4 ELEMENTS.

“It will be a very dynamic show that will involve the entire audience,” director Aurora Gonçalves-Shaner said.

Performances will be May 13-14 in the PCC Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre on West Campus. The Friday concert is at 7:30 p.m. There will be two shows on Saturday, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $10 for general admission and $8 for students.

Dancers will define water, air, fire and metal through movement and visual art. Large paintings, each representing an element, will create backdrops on stage.

Different dances will showcase individual elements. For example, fire will correspond with belly dance. Air will represent heaven, using a live harpist.

Dance styles will include classical ballet, ballroom, jazz, salsa, modern and hip-hop.

Tickets are available at the CFA box office and online.

Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour before the show.
